Can you believe a quarter of the century is in the history books?
As Terry Pratchett said, “inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened.”
What does this have to do with investing? Everything.
The chart below is a graphical illustration of a life, assuming you live to 90 years old. Each block is one year.
“That’s it?…. Is life really that short?”
If you think that looks short, look at a similar time chart of your career, assuming (for attorneys) that you start making money around age 30, and retire at age 65.
We all know how quickly a year goes by.
There are just not that many years available to us.
Particularly if we focus just on our working years.
And it is in these very few years that we must generate enough wealth to achieve all of our financial goals. Including saving enough money to fund our retirement.
How will you do it?
What is your plan to save enough money by the time you retire?
Do you have such a plan in place?
If not, why not?
